An employee from the California Check Cashing called at 8:16 a.m. to report there was a man at the counter trying to cash a counterfeit check. Police arrested the man before he had a chance to take off. The Tracy Police Department received 209 calls for service Thursday. The following is a sampling of those reports: 2:52 a.m.: Police arrested a man after his wife reported that he slapped her on the 100 block of Carlton Way. Police said the women bled from her mouth. 5:56 a.m.: A man walked into the police station at 1000 Civic Center Drive to report someone stole his 2002 convertible Corvette from where he works in Fremont. An hour and a half later, police discovered his wife had his car. 8:02 a.m.: A man on the 400 block of Acacia Street reported that someone stole tools from his vehicle. 10:09 a.m.: Someone burglarized a car on the 600 block of Mt. Diablo Avenue. 10:42 a.m.: A caller reported someone shot out a car window with a BB gun at the Chesapeake Bay Apartments at 2941 W. Lowell Ave. 12:02 p.m.: A woman on the 200 block of South Tracy Boulevard reported that someone let the air out of her two front tires for the third time. 1:03 p.m.: A caller reported that someone burglarized the caller’s house on the 200 block of La Monte Lane. 3:08 p.m.: A caller reported three kids smoking drugs in the backyard of a home on the 500 block of Allisha Lane. Police warned them. 5:17 p.m.: A caller from JCPenny at 3150 Naglee Road reported that a man on Tuesday night passed two fake travelers checks and that the store has video footage of the suspect. 6:57 p.m.: A Honda with three people inside overturned at Sycamore Parkway and Windham Court. No serious injuries were reported, and the Honda was towed. 9:22 p.m.: A caller reported three people in the middle of Robert Kellog Park at 2224 Mount Pellier St. were smoking pot, and the caller “could smell it all over the park.” 9:29 p.m.: Police arrested a man on suspicion of drunken driving at 11th Street and Corral Hollow Road after a caller reported the guy has a beer in his hand behind the wheel. 11:18 p.m.: Police arrested a man and woman on the 500 block of Durham Ferry Road on suspicion of carrying a stolen pump-action shotgun. • This column includes a sampling of items as reported in the Tracy Police Department dispatcher’s daily log.
