The Junior American A's are the last Tracy team standing in the District 67 Little League TOCs. One Tracy team is in contention for a Little League District 67 championship this weekend. The Junior American A’s are still in the winners bracket after they beat the Salida Cardinals 5-4 on Tuesday at Paul Weston Park in Stockton. They face the Northgate Little League team today. The Tracy Little League Junior National Dodgers lost their second game in the TOC on Thursday night as the Weston Ranch Ports prevailed, 5-2. Dodgers coach Mike Loscavio said his pitchers, Jonah Westley, Matt Loscavio and Steven Gonsalves, pitched a steady game, but the Dodgers’ batters didn’t connect for the big hits. "We had good defense and our pitching was strong," the coach said, "but at this point, you need to get off to a good start, and we didn’t get off to a good start." He added that the Ports took an early lead and stayed ahead even after the Dodgers managed to score. The Tracy Major American A’s were knocked out of the TOC on Wednesday after the Weston Ranch Red Sox won, 13-6. The Tracy Major National D’Backs were eliminated last weekend. Major A’s coach Tim Talaugon said his team, made up mostly of younger players, competed well in the TOC and in Wednesday’s game against the Weston Ranch tournament league champions. "Most of all the TOC teams we competed with from Manteca and the surrounding areas do not have 10- and 11-year-old kids on the team roster," he said, "and our younger kids competed toe-to-toe with the older players." Brandon Ricard pitched for the A’s for the first four innings, and in the bottom of the fourth, the team rallied to score five runs and take the lead. Both Tyler Curtis and Kyle Murawski hit stand-up doubles, and Brandon Ricard and C.J. Butcher both got key base hits to keep the rally going. The Red Sox rallied in the fifth and sixth innings to take the lead and the win. The Tracy Minor National Dodgers came back to win two after a first-round TOC loss, but they were eliminated Wednesday after the Northgate Little League team beat them 10-7 at Salida Park in Salida. The Tracy Minor American Yankees also were eliminated last weekend after they lost their first two games.
