Mobley for Assembly Print E-mail

A Merced woman suggests a new face to replace Democratic Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani.

EDITOR,

Now that the primary election is over, it is time for state Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani to finally explain her position on several vital issues.

Sen. Jeff Denham was strongly affirmed by his overwhelming victory in the recall effort. Will Galgiani join Denham in his efforts to solve the ongoing fiscal crisis facing our state, brought on by the overspending of a liberal-dominated Legislature?

Secondly, the incredibly egregious ruling by four activist judges to clear the way for gay marriages in California is an event that demands our elected officials to step up to the plate and tell us where they stand. So where is Galgiani?

She didn’t utter a syllable about the unjustified treatment of Denham by members of her party. She has demonstrated a deficient understanding of the seriousness of the state’s budgetary problems by equating them to the level of cleaning out our garages, and she has refused to vote on many controversial issues, including the union card check bill, tax increases on oil produced in California, Senate Bill 777 and homosexual marriage.

We need a change. We need someone who is not looking for a career but rather wants to serve the people of the 17th Assembly District. We need someone who has a proven track record of making tough decisions and who does not stick their finger in the wind before making those decisions.

That someone is Jack Mobley. As a U.S. Air Force veteran, businessman and community leader, he knows how to count the costs and does not shy away from doing what is right or from making the tough decisions.

Our state needs strong leadership in these challenging times. Jack Mobley is ready, willing and able to provide that leadership.

• Editor’s note: Galgiani was on record with the Modesto Bee and other news outlets that she did not support the Denham recall effort.
