![]() Matthew Miller is one of West High's seniors who will graduate Saturday. See more about Matthew in Our Town. Glenn Moore/Tracy Press About 440 seniors will graduate from Tracy High in a ceremony at 8:30 a.m., and about 640 will take part in West High’s first graduation at its new stadium 90 minutes later. At Tracy High, 18-year-old G. Nolan Emery will deliver the commencement address. Valedictorian Linzsey Sharpe, 17, and salutatorian Theresa Hoan, 17, will also speak. Jennifer Zimmermann, 18, will perform the national anthem, and Cecilia Robles, 17, and Chelsea Bryant, 17, will also sing at the 8:30 a.m. ceremony at Peter B. Kyne Field. “This is really special, because we’ll have a lot of retiring teachers and a retiring principal to recognize, too,” said Merry Zimmerman, a secretary at Tracy High, referring to Principal Pat Anastasio, who retires next month. “There are more retirees this year than we’ve ever had before.” At West High School, Yale-bound valedictorian David Chen, 18, and salutatorian Peter Wardell, also 18, will be the main speakers. The senior jazz choir will be the ceremony’s featured performers. This morning’s graduation will be West High’s first in the brand-new Steve Lopez Stadium. Like Anastasio, West High Principal Herman Calad will retire at the end of June.

A note of correction: West High's graduation is scheduled for 10:30...so you'll just get there a little earlier if you don't read this before you leave! Just didn't want anyone to think that the "show" was fashionably late, as you were waiting for it to start at 10:00. Yay home field! Have a nice, and SAFE weekend!
