Punks without respect Print E-mail

A local man complains about kids who burglarized his truck.

EDITOR

I recently sent a letter to the editor regarding the fact that a couple of punks broke into my pickup and stole something that was worth only $30. But in doing so, they did $383 worth of damage to my truck.

In the letter, I made a statement you felt was racial, so you chose not to run it.

I don’t agree with your decision, because I felt that what I said left it up to the reader as to how to interpret it. If it rankled some feathers, so be it.

That having been said, the fact remains that there are a couple of punks running around our streets in a small red pickup, breaking into cars and stealing electronic equipment.

Apparently, these two are from families that never taught them discipline or respect for others, and they obviously have no respect for the law.

They’ll get caught one day, and their mom and dad will say it is a mistake, because their sons would never do such things. Well, Mom and Dad, you are wrong.

Dear Earl,

First let me say that I do agree that either these individuals will get caught one day which they do not understand the more you do it the more likelyhood of getting caught and that one day the tables will turn on them and they will feel how all the people they hurt felt in the past. With that being said, I hope you understand that "criminal behavior" does not have a race. "Criminal behavior" is an unfortunate aspect of "human behavior". In the beginning you pointed out that you wanted to let the readers decide how they felt about the issue but if you go and study "human psychology" (studies of mental processes and human behavior) that race is irrelevant to the cause of "criminal behvavior". That is why we find "criminal behavior" amongst all races. I hope you will research and find out more about this subject!

A couple of punks must have been swinging a bat and broke out the driver window of our car. Got it fixed. Our mail has been stolen and found several times. Some kid tried to open our car door in broad daylight. Two times that I know of, cars have tried to peel out on our lawn. Eggs thrown at our cars. Bike found behind our bushes...screen door busted out.....mail box blown up..........dogs barking incessantly................flower pots stolen off front our porch...........................mail box graffitied...................................We live in a good neighborhood, A bad one around the corner tho. Just close enough to cause trouble, not to mention the pot house that was down the street and now they are acting up again.

If the two punks got caught, there's a hundred more to take their place.

Dear Earl,
What you wrote spoke volumes to me. Our ex-neighbor has a son that could "do no wrong". "The reason my son steals from you is because he knows you have 5 cars to 2 drivers and that you (Debi) brag about what you have!!" Said the mother of the criminal, who wouldn't give her 20 year old son a house key to his own house because he couldn't be trusted by his own parents. Bert stole our car stereo, twice. A month later---stole the dang car! Broke into our home numerous occasions, stole a lap top, money credit cars, cash and lots more. Bert was finally caught because he placed his cell phone down on my bathroom counter in order to have both hand free to use a pry bar to break open my locked closet door---and then left without remebering his phone. His mother, Tracy, would come over to my house and plead, cry, yell and beg with me that her son doesn't deserve prision!!! That it was again my fault because he knows we have "stuff". I testified against Bert in court. Bert went to prision for a year and a half vowing that he was going to kill that "B" that put him in prision. That was pleasant. You know, his prior convictions and his theavin' ways along with his dowding momma landed Bert behind bars. That is my sad story at my house in Hidden Lake.
P.S. We have had our truck broken into twice, once in December and then again 2 days ago. The lock was punched, truck riffeled thru. The lock smith loves to see me comin'! Maybe the vandals are one of his kids........hhhmmmmm. Bert and his parents moved on to Oklamhoma after his stint in the pokie. Our new neighbors are nice.
