Before saying one high school is favored by trustees, consider West High was left unfinished for more than a decade.
School still unfinished after 10 years
EDITOR,
This letter is in response to Earl Jess’ letter ("Our-of-mind Tracy High," Your Voice, May 3). I am a 2005 graduate of West High. I went to an unfinished high school that was 10 years old. I was a water polo player who had to find rides to Tracy High for practices and games every night. I was a four-year drama student who performed in a classroom unless we could rent the theater at Tracy High, if they could fit us in. I attended football games, homecoming rallies and special events, including my graduation, at Tracy High.
So it is about time they got to finishing West High so the students can enjoy their high school activities at their own high school. Tracy High may be old, but it is complete. The students there get to attend all their events and build all their high school memories at their own school.
If I am not mistaken, there is some major construction on new classrooms going on at Tracy High right now. So before you complain, think of the students.
