It's racing time again at Altamont Motorsports Park.
The U.S. Auto Club Western Sprints and NASCAR Whelen All-American series will return to Altamont Motorsports Park this weekend. Qualifying heats begin at 1 p.m. Saturday and racing starts at 3 p.m., with more than 250 laps of racing planned through Saturday evening. The 50-lap USAC Western Sprints feature race is the fourth round of the 2008 USAC Tour and will feature competition by standings leaders Nick Rescino Jr. of San Francisco, Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg, Eric Humphries of Chowchilla and Nick Green of North Carolina.
Two
50-lap feature races are scheduled for the NASCAR Western Late Models.
Points leader Guy Guibor of Manteca will be after his second win in a
row at Altamont. Others in the competition in the WLM series include
Andrew Livengood of Richmond, Jason Gilbert of Pleasanton, Doff Cooksey
of Brentwood and Todd Lynch of Tracy.
Tickets
are $20 for adults, $15 for youths, seniors and active military
personnel and $55 for a family pass, which includes two general
