A word from the publisher emeritus about Monday's 7.9-earthquake in China.

 

 

We were about 700 miles from the earthquake, riding in a bus when it hit. So we didn't feel anything.

We found out about it when we reached the airport in Guilin in southern China.

We'll be returning home Wednesday, May 21.
