A couple of Bulldogs swimmers made the top 16 in the section meet.
Tracy High varsity swimmers Alyssa Britt and Nicole Brown were among the top 16 in their events and made it to the final heats in Saturday’s Sac-Joaquin Section finals at Tokay High in Lodi.
Britt was 14th fastest in the 100-yard breaststroke, with a time of one minute, 11.31 seconds in the preliminary heat. But she did not qualify as one of the eight swimmers in the championship race. She came in seventh in the consolation race with a time of 1:11.20. Britt also recorded the 15th-fastest time in the 100-yard butterfly in the qualifying heat (1:01.49) and finished eighth in the consolation heat (1:02.54).
Brown recorded the 15th-fastest time in the preliminary heat for the 100 backstroke (1:03.99). She came in fifth in the consolation heat with a time of 1:02.30 and finished 22nd in the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.83.
Tracy also had two sophomores in the diving competition: Jordan Strong took fifth place, and Francisco Lopez was eighth.

Freshman/sophomore girls: Jennifer Porter, West, 100 freestyle, 54th, 1:01.12, and 100 backstroke, 50th, 1:10.97; Anna Lowell, Tracy, 100 butterfly, 40th, 1:08.98; Kerri Carrick, West, 100 backstroke, 75th, 1:13.83. Freshman/sophomore boys: Tyler Black, Tracy, 38th, 24.67.
