Seventh-grade wrestler takes first in class at Livingston.
Mitchell Selna of Tracy took first place in the 112-pound weight class in Saturday’s San Joaquin Wrestling Association Championship at Livingston Middle School, in Livingston.
He won the first of his two matches with a pin in the first round and went all three rounds in his second match to win by decision. Selna is a member of the West High Wrestling Club and a seventh-grader at Williams Middle School. He qualified for the weekend’s championship meet by competing in matches every weekend since March. The wrestler was among the top four in his class based on points collected during the season.
