Tracy police received 169 calls for service on Thursday. The
following is a sampling of those reports:
2:10 a.m.: Police arrested a man on suspicion of drunken
driving on the 900 block of Joranollo Drive after they pulled him over for
speeding and running stop signs.
7:06 a.m.: Someone broke into the Institute for Global
Commerce and Government at 1904 N. Corral Hollow Road and stole a computer.
8:14 a.m.: Someone broke into a car and stole a GPS device
on the 3400 block of Mary Jean Lane.
10:52 a.m.: A caller reported someone spray painted graffiti
and caused other damage to a fence on the 200 block of West Lowell Avenue.
11:44 a.m.: A man from Smart and Final at 1150 W. 11th
St. reported a woman walked in and asked to buy two gift cards with an invalid
credit card. The woman left, and the caller said she’s been going around to
different Smart and Finals and trying the same thing. He added there’s a
picture of woman as a possible suspect at one store.
2:19 p.m.: A caller from Lowest Price Auto Glass at 64 W. 11th
St. reported that an employee that was fired on Thursday tried to cash a check
stolen from the business. The caller said three checks were missing from the
company checkbook.
4:46 p.m.: A caller reported several teenagers drinking
alcohol and smoking drugs at Slayter Park at 1405 Suellen Drive.
5:23 p.m.: A woman reported that two 14- or 15-yearpold boys
“jumped” her 14-year-old son ad stole his iPod as he walked home from school at
Oxford Way and Lowell Avenue.
6:04 p.m.: A caller reported the people who lost their home
to a bank foreclosure went back inside and “thrashed” the home on the 2800
block of Herford Lane.
6:06 p.m.: A caller reported people in a silver Scion threw
glass out of the window as the car passed 11th Street in front of
the Civic Center.
6:22 p.m.: A caller reported four teenage boys just spray
painted a wall and took off from the 200 block of West Lowell Ave.
7:23 p.m.: A caller reported three kids wrote graffiti on
roadside signs near Allegre Drive and Corral Hollow Road. The caller followed
the kids as they defaced signs near West High School, and eventually police
detained two kids near Villalovos Elementary School, while two others got away
on bicycles. Police arrested the kids and took the San Joaquin County Juvenile
Hall in French Camp.
7:32 p.m.: A caller from the Sierra House group home on the
200 block of Whittier Avenue reported one resident beat and choked another.
8:15 p.m.: Police arrested a man ad took him to the San
Joaquin County Jail in French Camp after a caller on the 1200 block of Parker
Avenue reported a guy took mail from the caller’s mailbox.
8:21 p.m.: A woman on the 1400 block of Chester Drive
reported that she found a duffel bag on her front porch that contained a dead
cat. She said she’s had trouble with her next-door neighbors.
8:30 p.m.: A woman reported that she saw a couple of illegal
drugs sales take place at the West Valley Bowl at 2365 East St.
8:36 p.m.: A caller reported two guys walked up to him at
Rite Aid at 1970 W. Grant Line Road, asked him what he was doing, and then one
punched him in the head and stole his laptop computer. They suspects ran off.
10:56 p.m.: A man on the 1900 block of Court Drive reported
that while he was incarcerated, his ex-wife stole money and jewelry.
