Comcast employees and volunteers will help to tidy Monte Vista Middle School. Monte Vista Middle School and 27 other California schools will get some sprucing up from Comcast employees and other community volunteers today. Volunteers will clean up, pull weeds, paint and fill Comcast backpacks with first-aid supplies and distribute them to each classroom. City Councilwoman Evelyn Tolbert, Monte Vista Principal Stephanie Prioste, and Farrell Moseley, a Comcast executive, will attend the cleanup. This is the seventh year Comcast has had its annual Comcast Cares Day, when Comcast employees across the country volunteer in their local areas. This is the fourth year the company has done work in Tracy. "It’s a company-wide day of volunteerism," said Bryan Byrd, director of communications for Comcast. This year, organizers expect 4,000 Comcast employees and their families to take part in California cleanups, with 70 volunteers at Monte Vista alone.
