Hillclimbs back at Carnegie E-mail

Saturday and Sunday promise a full lineup of amateur hillclimb races.



The second round of the American Motorcycle Association Amateur Hillclimb Series will be at Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area this weekend.

Saturday’s events on Sportsman Hill will include five races in the stock two-stroke category, four in the four-stroke category, a women’s/girls race, and the Old Timers, Seniors and Veterans stock categories.

Sunday’s events include three divisions in the stock two-stroke categories, five in the Old Timers, Seniors and Veterans categories and four in the four-stroke categories.

Sunday will also feature the pro class and altered stock races, including motorcycles with engines sized 701 cubic centimeters and up.

Gates will open at 7 a.m. both days, and the first climb will be 9. There will also be pit bike motocross races Saturday evening.

Cost for spectators at the gate is $10 for general admission, $5 for children age 7 to 12 and no charge for children younger than 6.
