It wasn't enough to qualify for the league meet — several Bulldog swimmers went and set new low times, too.

Tracy High’s swim team qualified several of its swimmers Friday for the San Joaquin Athletic Association finals, which will be Saturday at Lincoln High.

Among the varsity girls, Nicole Brown set a new Tracy High School record in the 100-yard backstroke — one minute, 4.92 seconds — and her time of 56.55 seconds in the 100 freestyle qualifies her for the Sac-Joaquin Section meet May 8 through 10 at Tokay High School in Lodi.

Other varsity girls who qualified for the league finals are Lindsey Sharpe, 200 individual medley; Lindsey Sharpe, 100 butterfly; and Alyssa Britt, 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke.

Junior varsity girls who qualified for the finals Saturday are Daryl Scott, 200 freestyle; Andi Huckaba and Sheena Sharifi, 200 individual medley; Sharifi and Calla Frankel, 50 freestyle; Anna Lowell and Jordan Walling, 100 butterfly; Lowell and Frankel, 100 freestyle; Rena Pombo, 500 freestyle; Scott and Walling, 100 backstroke; and Huckaba, 100 breaststroke.

In the boys varsity, Evan Goad qualified for the finals in the 100 breaststroke.

Junior varsity boys in the finals are Tyler Black, 200 individual medley and 50 freestyle; Conner Sharpe, 100 butterfly; Anthony Stirling 500 freestyle; and Andrew Hutton, 100 breaststroke.

Tracy’s diving team took three of four top spots in the SJAA league meet Thursday.

Sophomore Jordan Strong scored 293.4, second place; freshman Cisco Lopez scored 226.9, third place; and sophomore Zack White scored 188.3, fourth place. Girls varsity diver Samantha Zimmerman had a fifth-place finish.

Results for West High’s swim team were not available at press time.
