With do-or-die games approaching, West and Tracy pull out victories Friday.

West High coach Able Dorado said his team dominated Friday’s match against the McNair Eagles at Plasencia Fields, but didn’t really get started on offense until the second half, when the Wolf Pack’s passing game became more effective.

Solveig Barnes scored West’s first goal early in the first half on an assist from Natalie Shaw. In the 35th minute, Barnes scored again with an assist from Kristy Fojo.

Barnes scored her third goal in the 20th minute of the second half, again with an assist from Shaw, and Damaris Vasquez scored in the 35th minute of the second half with an assist from Barnes.

The win puts West at 6-2 in the Tri-City Athletic League with a key match Wednesday at Tokay, as the two play for second place in TCAL and a spot in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs, which begin May 9.
