Wins, losses for Millennium, West and Tracy baseball.

Elliot Christian 14, Millennium 4

The Falcons endured a third inning where the Elliot Eagles walked repeatedly and got a few hits to knock them in. In all the Eagles got eight hits in Friday’s game at Millennium High.

Assistant coach Drew Reyes said the Falcons still had some good defensive play from shortstop Mark LaRue and first baseman Kellen Cheadle.

Hitting for Millennium were Brandon Haynes, Cody Nelson and Cheadle. Jake Vierra also got two hits for the Falcons, including a double, and drove in two runs.

“They had a couple pitchers who threw hard and we went out and hit the ball,” Reyes said.

Tracy’s batters ran away with the game in the 13-run second inning Thursday in Tracy. Big hits that inning included James Fisher’s double to score two and Casey Wichman’s triple to score two. Tyler Trew and Nick Camper also drove in two each on singles, and Tyler San Filippo knocked in one and came up again later that inning to knock in another.

Camper was the starting pitcher and allowed one run, two hits and a walk, but also struck out six batters, including all three batters he faced in the second inning. Jacob Wilson pitched and allowed three Franklin runs in the third, and Matt Patterson was the closing pitcher and allowed one more run.

(F) St. Mary’s 9, West 8

The Wolf Pack started with the lead Thursday at St. Mary’s, the Rams took it back in the second inning, and West rallied again in the sixth for an 8-7 lead.

The Rams scored one in the bottom of the seventh to put the game into the eighth inning which is when St. Mary’s got two runners on base and they advanced to second and third bases. West walked a batter to load the bases and on full count the Rams’ batter got a game-winning walk on a low pitch that Coach Vince Vargas said appeared to be in the strike zone.

Vargas said that his team battled through their best-played game so far this season. Sal Alvarado hit a triple and batted in one and Christ Del Dotto, Joey Wagner, Jason Thomassen and Steven Black also got hits.
