A local man says things in Tracy really are going downhill when even personal organizers with no monetary value aren't safe from theft.
I have to agree with the letters and articles about how bad things are getting in town. Every day, we read about cars or houses getting broken into or someone getting attacked. There are so many people who have no respect for others and/or their property.
A personal example: On Tuesday, I became distracted while loading my groceries and left my Day Runner (calendar/organizer) in the grocery cart. I was gone for about 10 minutes, and when I went back to see if it was still there, it was gone.
There was a man sitting in a car next to where I was parked, and when I got back, he was gone, and so was my Day Runner. I can’t say for sure that he took it, but it sure seems strange that everything happened so fast.
Regardless of who took it, all they managed to get, besides my address book and W-2 forms, which can be replaced, were pictures of my son and other family members. I take the blame for leaving it behind. But someone else could have turned it in to any of the stores in the shopping center.
I would be willing to bet that if someone stole from this thief, he or she would complain to anyone who would listen. What a waste of a human life!
