Golfers from Tracy and West high won team matches this week, and Millennium came in fourth in two league tournaments.
Tracy and West will host golfers from the San Joaquin Athletic Association and Tri-City Athletic League at Tracy Golf & Country Club on Monday for the Tracy Invitational, an 18-hole tournament to prepare golfers for league championships the week of April 28. From that tourney, the top two teams and top six individuals from other teams in each league will advance to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I South tournament May 5.
West High’s golf team outscored the McNair team, 207-236, during TCAL play Thursday at Micke Grove Golf Course. The win puts West’s team at 6-2 in league and 6-6 overall.
McNair’s Matt Rosman scored an even-par 36 for the best score of the day. Daniel Ojeda turned in a 1-over 37 for West’s best score.
Other Wolf Pack golfers were Brent Lewis, 39; Dane de Jesus, 42; Brett Steele, 43; Brandon Vergel de Dios, 46; and Edward Sembrano, 57. McNair’s other scores included Michael Flores’ 43; Anthony Do’s 49; Dao Thao’s 52; Seth Lawlor’s 61; and Ronnie Lawson’s 63.
Tracy High golfers had another win at Tracy Golf & Country Club on Thursday.
Tracy is now 8-0 in the San Joaquin Athletic Association and 13-1 overall with two matches left in league play: Lodi on Tuesday and Franklin on Thursday.
Other Tracy scorers were Zack Jackson, 41; Kirk Leopoldo, 42; Dallas Lopez, 42; and Austin Mack, 47. Chavez’ scores included Stanley Tep, 48; Eric Toun, 52; Kyle Torres, 54; Tim Cortez, 55; Danley Tep, 55; and Gustavo Cisneros 57.
Millennium High’s golfers took fourth place at the Spring Creek Country Club Thursday in a Harvest Christian League seven-team tournament. Big Valley Christian had the first-place team total of 222, and Jim Elliot Christian was second with 238. Top individual scorers were Joe Green of Big Valley with 39 and Matt Stewart of Jim Elliot with 40. Millennium’s top scorer was Ryan Plusch, who shot a 50.
Golfers from Millennium High School also took fourth place Tuesday as the HCL met at Creekside Golf Course in Modesto for the Lodi Academy Tournament.
Big Valley Christian of Modesto and Jim Elliot Christian of Lodi tied at 233 for the top team score, Brookside Christian was third with 275 and Millennium was fourth with 286. Matt Stewart of Jim Elliot Christian shot a 1-over-par 37 for the day’s low score. Millennium’s scores included Ryan Plusch’s 49; Cameron Davis’ 53; Tim Langston’s 54; Michelle Laban’s 62; Aveneet Gill’s 68; and Matthew Nolen’s 69.
