Tracy Babe Ruth youth baseball league is now open for second-season signups. Players ages 13 to 18 are encouraged to sign up before April 26 at the Monte Vista Middle School snack bar. There will be a 13-to-15-year-old division and a 16-to-18-year-old division.

West High orientation

The West High Athletic Department will host its annual athletic orientation for eighth graders interested in participating in a sport at West High next year. The parent-athlete orientation will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the West High main gym, 1775 W. Lowell Ave.

Athletic director Steve Thornton will give out information about all of West High’s athletic programs and answer any questions athletes and parents have about sports at West High. Coaches will be there to sign up students and answer questions about their sports.

Youth bowling

West Valley Bowl will register boys and girls ages 6 to 18 for its summer youth bowling leagues. All who sign up will receive instruction to improve their games. Signups will be from 9:45 a.m. to noon today, April 26 and May 3; and from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday and April 28.

League play starts at 3:45 p.m. June 2, a Monday, and at 9:45 a.m. June 7, a Saturday, and runs for 12 weeks until Aug. 18 and 23.

Cost is $108 for Monday or Saturday leagues or $180 to participate in both leagues. There is also a $14 fee for membership in the United States Youth Bowling Organization, which helps pay for awards.
