• Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s announcement last week that he would oppose a ballot measure to reaffirm California’s ban on same-sex marriage delighted gay-rights activists and infuriated social conservatives, who accused him of flip-flopping on the issue.

• $114: New high for a barrel of oil this week, as scattered pipeline interruptions and a weak dollar pressured a tight global market.

On April 16, the Iraqi Army detained the tribes' official at Sadr's political office in Basrah. "A number of wanted men, including Muayad al Abdi, tribes official at al Sadr’s office, were arrested after finding 51 bombs at his house," an unnamed Army commander told Voices of Iraq. Sadr's office denied Abdi was a member of the Mahdi Army.

as for the $114 oil....Drill in ANWR Alaska. did you know that the Inupiat Alaskan natives that OWN the proposed land where the drilling is to take place WANT the drilling, they desperately need the Royalties for Schools and Hospitals
