Altamont Motorsports Park will play host to another set of races this weekend. Racing returns to the Altamont Motorsports Park with the U.S. Auto Club’s Pacific Coast Spring Nationals. Races will include the second race of the USAC’s Western Sprint Car Series, which opened this past weekend in Roseville. Saturday will feature qualifying laps, three 10-lap heat races and the 50-lap feature race with 18 drivers competing for shares of an $8,500 purse, including $1,250 for the winner. It is the first of seven races in the 16-race series at Altamont through September. The USAC will also host the fifth race in its Western Midget Car Series. It’s the first of five races Altamont will host in the 23-race series. Also on the schedule is the fifth race of the California Ford Focus Pave Midget Series, a 20-race series that will stop at Altamont five times between now and September.
