Tracy golfers continue winning streak

Tracy High’s Jake Pineo shot an even-par 36 and Kirk Leopoldo shot his best round of the season, a 1-over 37, during their golf match Thursday at Brookside Country Club in Stockton. Also golfing for Tracy were Anthony Manguray, 41, Zack Jackson, 42, Shane Conner, 43, and Dallas Lopez, 45.

Tracy is now 6-0 in the San Joaquin Athletic Association.

Lincoln’s golfers also shot consistently low scores. Robb Post shot 38, Brad Bonneau 39, John Presto 40, Tyler Dementral 43, Joseph Quijano 44 and Drake Dutschke 45.

West 224, Stagg 292

West High’s golfers took their third Tri-City Athletic League win Thursday at Tracy Golf & Country Club against visiting Stagg. West is 3-2 in the TCAL and 3-5 overall.

West’s Daniel Ojeda had the low score for the day, a 4-over-par 40. Brent Lewis shot 41, Dane De Jesus 46, Chris Hernandez 47 and Eduardo Sembrano 50.

John Griep shot Stagg’s low score of 49. Mike Nishimura carded a 46, Cody Hernandez 59, Alberto Hernandez 61 and Paul Smith 57.

Calvary Temple Tournament
The Millennium golf team finished fifth among seven teams Tuesday at Creekside Golf Course in Modesto as Calvary Temple hosted a tournament for the Harvest Christian League teams.

Golfers from Big Valley Christian took first place with a team score of 218. Jim Elliot Christian was second with 229, Brookside Christian was third with 266, Lodi Academy was fourth with 284, Millennium shot a collective 293, Calvary Temple was sixth with 309 and Wilton Christian was seventh with 315.

Low scorers were Matt Stewart of Jim Elliot Christian and Joe Green and Jared Lunsford of Big Valley, all shooting 41.

Millennium’s scores were as follows: Ryan Plusch 53, Cameron Davis 53, Tim Langston 61, Britany Oswald 62, Michelle Laban 64 and Aveneet Gill 69.
