Gymnasts from Tracy High took first place in a five-school meet at Gymtowne Gymnastics in San Bruno on Wednesday.
Tracy’s team scored 167.95, and gymnasts from Gunn High of Palo Alto were second with a team total of 104.55.
Tracy’s Jennifer Brawley won first place all-around with a score of 36.7. Her scores were as follows: vault, 8.95, first place; uneven bars, 8.75, fourth place; balance beam, 9.7, first place; and floor exercises, 9.3, third place.
Breanna Noriega of Tracy was fourth overall with a score of 35.75, which included and 8.9 on vault for second place; 8.6in bars for fifth place; 9.1 on beam for fourth place; and 9.15 on floor for fifth place.
Melissa Marsden was the only entry from West High in the varsity competition, and she took seventh place with an all-around score of 33.4. Her scores: vault, 8.6, sixth place; bars, 8.05, seventh place; beam, 8.1, sixth place; floor, 8.65, 10th place.
Other all-around rankings for Tracy included Adrian Havens, ninth; Amira Wignarajah, 10th; Lindsey Lynch, 11th; Lauren Knapp, 12th; and Bailey Perez, 13th.
In the junior varsity, the Tracy team took first place with a score of 160.70 and Burlingame High was second with 144.95.
West High’s Pia Valdes was first place all-around. Her scores were for vault, 8.9, 11th place; for bars, 7.7, sixth place; for beam, 8.9, first place; and for floor, 9.2, first place.
Lindsey Phelps of Tracy was second overall with a score of 33.5. She scored 8.2 on bars, second place; 7.6 on beam, seventh place; and 9.0 on floor, second place.
Shellie Gottberg of Tracy High was fifth overall with a score of 32.0, including vault, 9.3, first place; beam, 7.7, fifth place; and floor, 9.0, second place.
Kristin Barrios of Tracy was sixth all-around including vault, 9.0, seventh place; and floor, 8.7, fourth place. Desiree Drab and Hannah Garrity of Tracy finished in eighth and 10th place all-around, respectively; West’s Olivia Dale and Marianne Fessel were in 11th and 12th place all-around; and Tracy’s Katie Lo, Samantha Warren and Sara Zanolli were 14th, 15th, and 16th.
Jennifer Brawley swept all of her events last week at the first Tracy/West gymnastics meet April 1 at Classic Gymnastics in Tracy.
Brawley took first place in vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercises for a first-place overall finish of 35.45. West High’s only entry in the varsity meet, Melissa Marsden, tied for second place overall with Breanna Noriega. Marsden finished second in the bars and beam and third in the vault. Noriega was second in the vault and floor and third in the bars. Third place overall was Tracy’s Amira Wignarajah, who took third place in the beam and floor.
Tracy’s varsity, with seven team members, had a team total of 151.9.
In the junior varsity meet, West’s Pia Valdes was first overall with a score of 31.0 and a first place finish on the floor, second in the vault and beam and third in the bars. Second place overall was West’s Olivia Dale with a score of 29.85, second place in the bars and third in the beam and floor. In third was Tracy’s Shellie Gottberg, who took first in the beam and second in the floor. Tracy JV team total was 144.95 for the best five of eight team members. West’s three girls in the junior varsity had a total of 88.95 team points.
