Quick hits
• Just as the issue was dying down, former President Bill Clinton revved it back up this week by telling reporters that Hillary’s comments about landing under sniper fire in Bosnia were true.
• Joe Six-pack will have to pay a lot more to get his buzz on if Assemblyman Jim Beall has his way. The San Jose Democrat has proposed raising the beer tax by $1.80 per six-pack, 30 cents per can or bottle. The tax is now 2 cents per can. That’s an increase of about 1,500 percent.
• $3.365: The latest average for a gallon of gas at the pump, another record for U.S. retail gas prices. That leaves drivers paying 56 cents more a gallon than a year ago. • $4.06: The price for a gallon of diesel, the nation’s key transportation fuel. Experts say prices are going up because there’s just not enough supply to meet demand.

when the beer tax goes up, less people will buy beer, then California wont get the tax increase, or the regular tax that is already there, causing a net loss. Morons.
The Proof is already there also. the State raised Fishing License fees one year. sales of the licenses went down and the net result for the year was a Loss for California Fishing license fees,,Idiots, but Stupid democrats in sacramento werent finished..they suggested another fee increase for Fishing licenses because "revenues were Down"
Gee?? I wonder why? Elect Democrats, and destroy Californias economy. Then who will pay the taxes so california can give away free health care to all the illegals?
