The Altamont Motorsports Park opened Saturday, with qualifying races that continue today. Photo by Glenn Moore/Tracy Press A group of racecars head for the green lap and the start of their 20-lap heat at the Altamont Motorsports Park raceway Saturday afternoon. It was the first day of racing for the season. Saturday was qualifying heat races in different categories, including Late Model Westcar and Grand Ams.
