A local student suggests more showers after P.E. classes.

Why do some middle schools require gym clothes and showers for after P.E and others don’t? Shouldn’t all middle schools have these? It’s gross walking around with sweat on you.

Another reason to require this is that the classrooms smell after students return from P.E., which is distracting to others who are trying to focus and learn. Some people who have high perspiration levels should not have to think about getting embarrassed, because if we had gym showers, they wouldn’t have to worry. We could put the showers in extra bathrooms or unused rooms.

Schools don't teach personal hygiene but the should. Showers should be mandatory after all PE classes in all grades.

It does bring unwanted attention to the person's body odor. Good habits begins at home, and it should continue throughout school years and beyond.

Hard to do that without showers at schools.
