Bear Creek sweeps Tracy's track and field teams in a Thursday afternoon matchup.

The Bear Creek Bruins won all four divisions in Thursday’s track and field meet at Tracy High in the Bulldogs’ second San Joaquin Athletic Association meet of the year.

The meet leaves all of Tracy’s teams at 0-2 in the SJAA.

 

In the boys varsity division, Bear Creek outscored Tracy 89-42 and dominated all the track events and most of the field events.

 

Tracy’s only first-place finishes came in the 4x400 relay, in which the Bulldogs ran unopposed, and in the long jump and triple jump, in which Kenneth Miks went 18 feet, 10½ inches and 40-1½, respectively.

 

The Bruins’ girls varsity outscored Tracy 68-53.

 

Tracy’s first-place finishes included Caitlin McLean in the 400 meters, with a time of 64 seconds; Katie Connolly, who ran unopposed in the 3,200 meters and finished in 16:18; Kari Ridder, who was unopposed in the 300-meter low hurdles and finished in 59.37; Marlene MacMillan, in the long jump with a distance of 15-1 and the high jump with a height of 4-4; Alison Emery, in the discus with a distance of 81-5; and Nicole Loscavio in the pole vault, springing to a 7-6.

 

In the freshman-sophomore boys matches, Bear Creek won 78-59.

 

First-place finishes for Tracy included Kyle Petrucelli, with a time of 20.38 in the 110-meter hurdles and a 49.81 in the 300-meter hurdles. Teammate Elijah Mitchell won the high jump with a height of 5-2; D.J. Damon won the shot put by hurling his orb 40-2; and Kevin Speer won the discus with a throw of 113-9.

 

The Bruins frosh-soph girls also outscored Tracy, 79-40.

 

First-place awards for Tracy went to Meghan Gleason, who had a time of 6:56 in the 1,600 meter race; Marissa Nelson, who won the long jump with a distance of 13-5; and Sommer Adams, who won both the shot put and the discus with throws of 26-7 and 60-6.
