Tracy and West enjoy continued success on the tennis court.

Tracy 3, Bear Creek 2

Tracy High tennis coach Dean Reese rearranged his team for Tuesday’s match against Bear Creek at Tracy on Tuesday. The Bulldogs swept their single matches but lost in the doubles for the 3-2 final score, a 5-1 record in the San Joaquin Athletic Association and a
5-2 mark overall.

In the singles games, Tracy’s Neil Thakor beat the Bruins’ Leeroi Marcus, 6-3, 6-1, and Tracy’s Quinn O’Brien beat Levi Scott, 6-2, 6-2. Sophomore Chris Pope started in the No. 3 singles spot for Tracy for the third time this season and came out with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Kao Saephan.

In the doubles, Bear Creek’s Xao Vang and Joseph Herr beat Sanjit Gill and Vatsal Jahalani, 6-0, 6-2. Johnson Thao and Caleb Ganoe beat Tracy’s Ryan Kelly and Kevin Camacho,
3-6, 6-1, 10-6.

West 4, Edison 1

West coach Micheal Quintana also moved some of his players around for Tuesday’s match at Edison, and the only match West lost belonged to sophomore Parker Lewis, who still played strong in three close sets.

In the singles, West’s Brett Spadoni beat Ger Ziong, 6-2, 7-5; Edison’s Ankit Kumar beat West’s Lewis, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3; and West’s Baljit Singh beat Gustavo Gonzalez, 6-1, 6-0.

In the doubles, West’s Serggio Antonio and Daniel de la Cruz defeated Mao Her and Tou Her, 6-2, 6-2; and West’s Luke Creasman and Gilbert Munoz beat John Ziong and Chimua Yang, 6-0, 6-2.

West is now 4-0 in the Tri-City Athletic League and 5-2 overall.

Freedom tournament

West ended up with a third-place finish Saturday at the Freedom High Tournament in Antioch. The Wolf Pack lost their first match against Piedmont High, 3-2, in the semifinal match of the junior varsity tournament. San Ramon High defeated Freedom High 5-0 in the semifinal match and beat Piedmont 4-1 for the championship.

West defeated Freedom 4-1 for third.
