Fools': Sen. Hillary Clinton walked somberly into a press conference
Tuesday and stood before microphones. Reporters tensed, expecting her
to say she was dropping out of the race. “We clearly need to do
something so that our party and our people can make the right
decision,” she said. And then she proposed a bowl-off with Sen. Barack
Obama. Winner take all.
• Save
the planet: Al Gore believes the road to solving the climate crisis
winds through pop culture, beginning tonight with a 30-second ad on
“American Idol,” where his public advocacy campaign premiers.
• Ignore
the economists: Seventy-two percent of adults think the state is in a
recession, and 76 percent expect the nation to face tough financial
times in the coming year, according to a poll by the Public Policy
Institute of California.
