A car show in Tracy this weekend will promote Altamont's "American Graffiti" event.
Noceti Grupe Motorsports Promotions will host a show of race cars, custom motorcycles and hot rods from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Orchard Restaurant, 2351 Toste Road, and Back Roads Custom Cycles, 2446 Toste Road.
The show is a promotion for the “Tribute to American Graffiti” Big Dog event April 5 and 6 at Altamont Motorsports Park on Midway Road just west of town. Car show attendees will have the chance to win two-for-one tickets to the “American Graffiti” event. The entry list and race lineups will be announced at the car show.
“A Tribute to American Graffiti” will feature Western Late Models, Grand American Modifieds, American Limited Stockcars and West Coast Enduro racing over two days, with Saturday-night competition including heat races and the Enduro feature. Sunday will star the Altamont features and a “second-chance” Enduro.
More than $40,000 in prize money will be paid out, and because Altamont is a NASCAR-sanctioned track, Sunday’s features will award NASCAR points. For information: www.nocetigrupeinc.com.
