Tracy High scores at will in an 8-0 win against Bear Creek.

Tracy’s varsity soccer team logged another win against the Bear Creek Bruins on Friday at Plasencia Fields. It wasn’t as lopsided as the 12-0 San Joaquin Athletic Association opener for Tracy, but the 8-0 score still showed Tracy could score at will.

Alexis Poppoff scored three goals: one in the second minute with an assist by Melissa Worthington, another in the eighth minute, assisted by Katie Golik, and the third in the 53rd minute on a penalty kick.

Andrea Uchiyama also scored in the fifth minute of the game, assisted by Andrea Garcia, and Garcia scored in the 20th minute with an assist by Golik. Tori DeDeaux scored in the 27th minute on an assist by Breahna Berry, and Brittany Branscomb scored in the 30th minute unassisted. Also scoring in the second half was Monica Guinn, assisted by Golik.

The win put Tracy at 5-1 in the SJAA and 5-2-2 overall.

Lincoln 3, Tracy 1

The Tracy High girls soccer team lost on the road Wednesday at Lincoln High as the Trojans prevailed 3-1.

Poppoff scored the Bulldogs’ only goal seven minutes into the first half, and Lincoln responded 10 minutes later.

The score was tied going into the second half, when Lincoln scored two more.

Lincoln was the only SJAA team Tracy had yet to face, and Tracy coach Joe Perry expected it would be a tough match.

“They played real well on their field,” Perry said.

(JV) Tracy 4, Lincoln 1

The Tracy High girls junior varsity team claimed a 4-1 win Wednesday in SJAA play at Lincoln High.

Melissa Aboud and Marissa Mata led the Bulldogs with two goals each, and Aboud had two assists. Alyssa Ciraulo and Taryn Jones also had assists. Goalkeeper Ally Gottberg had two saves in the first half, and fellow keeper Amanda White had two saves in the second half.

The win put the team at 5-0 in the SJAA and 9-0-1 overall.
