The Bullpups drop the first game of the 2008 campaign to the red-hot St. Mary's Rams. (S) St. Mary’s 11, Tracy 4 The St. Mary’s Rams handed Tracy’s sophomores their first loss of the season Tuesday at Tracy High. The loss puts the Bullpups at 12-1 for the season. Tracy coach Ken Perez said St. Mary’s, which logged five errors but also collected 14 hits off pitchers Alex Flores and Robbie Jackman, would have been tough to beat in any event. "We ran up against a good ball club and didn’t play our best," Perez said. He added that while Tracy started off well, the team was flat for most of the game. St. Mary’s, on the other hand, kept on scoring. (F) Lincoln 9, West 2 The Trojans limited the Wolf Pack to three hits during the St. Mary’s Tournament in Stockton on Tuesday but made all eight of their own hits count. For West, the first run came in the second inning, when Sal Alvardo hit a triple and scored on a passed ball. Alvardo scored again in the sixth when he got a walk, stole second and third and then made it home when the Lincoln catcher tried to pick him off and threw the ball into left field. Lincoln hit and scored consistently to hang onto the lead.
