The title picture for the city of Tracy's youth basketball league is becoming clear.

With one week left in the city of Tracy’s Youth Hoops basketball league, the Blue Hawks have clinched the third-and-fourth-grade division title. The fifth-and-sixth-grade division appears to be headed to a playoff, as the Heat and the Kings both won and remain tied with one game to go. The Cyclones picked up their first win in three weeks to hang on to a one-game lead in the seventh-and-eighth-grade division.

Third and fourth grade

Blue Hawks 25, Bulldogs 3: The Bulldogs needed the upset to force a tie with the division frontrunners, but the Blue Hawks put on another clinic to clinch the top spot in the division. Mason Sheen poured in 22 points, including 14 in the decisive second quarter, to lead all scorers in the game. Chris Cortes led the Bulldogs with two points.

Mini Devils 24, Lakers 13: The Mini Devils moved within a game of third place, while the Lakers joined the Devils with two other teams in the logjam for fourth place. The Mini Devils scored 14 first-quarter points and added to their lead in each of the remaining quarters. Teinari Aiasau paced the Devils’ attack with 10 points, and Elijah Hunter added eight in the win. Aaron Dizon scored 10 points for the Lakers.

Mini Devils 24, Celtics 11: The Devils made their doubleheader a clean sweep. Hunter scored eight for the Devils, while Isaiah Hunter added five and both Aiasau and Luis Guitierrez added four. Conner Hill led the Celtics’ offense with six points, and Achyuth Varma and Aranav Nampoothiri scored two each.

Turtles 19, Hurricanes 8: The Turtles joined the tie for fourth place in the division with a win against the Hurricanes, who dropped below .500 with the loss. Rory Flynn scored nine points in the win, and Thomas Zeratsion added six. The Hurricanes got three points from David Martinez and two each from Marc Stamatelaky and Sebastian Lindain.

Fifth and sixth grade

Heat 24, Tracy Ballers 15: The Heat remained in a tie atop the standings with a win against the Tracy Ballers. Peter Vankatwyk led the Heat’s offense, scoring seven points, while both Isabella Lawrence and Mark Dioisio added six points. The Ballers were led by Josh Soto, who scored seven points, and Cordalle Satchell, who chipped in six.

Kings 27, PB&J 16: The Kings maintained their share of the division lead with a win over PB&J. Leading the way for the Kings was Hassan Sabliny with 11 points, Sabrina Baisch with eight and Jacob Barba with six. PB&J had balanced scoring as Sean Broker, Snan Luffi and Eric Broker each scored four points.

PB&J 17, Tracy Ballers 13: Both PB&J and the Tracy Ballers played doubleheaders Saturday, and PB&J picked up the win in this contest. Luffi led the way for PB&J, scoring 10 points, while Eric Broker added four and Sean Broker tossed in three. Soto led the Ballers with five points, and Satchell scored four.

Seventh and eighth grade

Cyclones 33, Celtics 24: In jeopardy of dropping into a tie for first place in the division, the Cyclones stepped up to defeat the Celtics. Nathan Vankatwyk had a monster game, scoring 26 points in the win. The Celtics were led by Justin Vilayphanh, with 12 points; Dillon Mertens added 8 points.

Kings 24, Knights 21: Ken Ladines hit a 3-pointer for the Kings with less than 20 seconds to play to snap a 21-21 tie and secure the win, which moved the team into sole possession of second place in the division. The two teams entered the final quarter with the Kings leading by a score of 15-11, but spurred by Kenishi Silva’s 10-point quarter, the Knights battled back to a tie before Landines’ clutch shot. Both Landines and Justin King scored nine points to lead the Kings’ offense. The Knights were led by Silva’s 12 points and Zachary Guertin’s six.

Scores submitted by Floyd Lewis, city of Tracy Parks and Community Services.
