Millennium pastes Tioga, while the Tracy freshmen blank West.

In a rematch of Monday’s 14-0 win for the Millennium High softball team, the Falcons went to Groveland Friday to play the Tioga Timberwolves on their home turf, this time coming away with a 15-3 win.

Kelsea Eakin, who usually plays shortstop or catcher for the Falcons, took over pitching duties and allowed three hits and gave up eight walks.

Big hits for Millennium came from Jaelyn Woods, who hit a home run and triple in two of her three trips to the plate. Nicole Ochoa, 2-for-2, and Samantha Haines, 2-for-3, both hit triples as well.

The win puts Millennium at 4-1 going into Harvest Christian League play, which begins March 31, when the Falcons will meet the girls from Brookside Christian, last year’s section champions.

(F) Tracy 11, West 0

Tracy High pitcher Taylor Martinez allowed only two runners to reach base in a no-hitter against the West High freshman softball team Thursday. Coach Keith Britt said Martinez threw 52 pitches over five innings and struck out eight batters.

West pitcher Alison Noble also struck out eight and was the only West batter to make it on base, drawing two walks.

For the Bullpups, the leading hitter was Briana Alrige, who went 3-for-3, including a home run and three RBIs. Others who contributed to Tracy’s 13-hit total were Alexandra Motyka, Taylor Martinez, Alex Rodriguez, Jasmin Guevara and Alison Stuart.

The win puts Trracy at 9-0-1 for the season.
