It was another exciting week on the hardcourt in the city of Tracy youth basketball league.


Third and fourth grade

Blue Hawks 25, Sharks 8: The Blue Hawks are now the only undefeated team in the city of Tracy’s Youth Hoops program after taking down the Sharks. After a close first period, the Blue Hawks scored 10 points in the second quarter to take control of the game. Mason Sheen led the winners with 10 points, while Collin Waddoups added seven. Mary Fabris led the Sharks with five points.

Bulldogs 22, Sharks 12: The Sharks played a doubleheader against the top two teams in the division. The Bulldogs remained one game behind the Blue Hawks with a win over the Sharks. Nick Goulart poured in 15 points to lead the Bulldogs in scoring. Fabris scored 11 for the Sharks.

Hurricanes 13, Mini Devils 12: The Mini Devils held a 9-7 lead after the first quarter but failed to score in both the second and third quarters. Sebastian Lindain led the Hurricanes’ offense in the comeback, putting up eight points. Teinari Aiasau scored seven for the Mini Devils.

Hurricanes 23, Lakers 21: The Hurricanes finished up a doubleheader against the Lakers with a win but still had a tough time as the game went into overtime. The Lakers had a 19-16 lead over the Hurricanes entering the fourth quarter, but they were outscored 5-2 by the Hurricanes to force overtime. Marc Stamatellaky scored 10 points for the winners, and Sabastian Lindain added eight. Trevor Baker scored 14 for the Lakers, and Aaron Dizon scored seven.

Warriors 18, Bulls 10:
The Warriors rode an eight-point second quarter to a win over the Bulls. Luis Ayala Jr. led the Warriors’ attack with five points, while Kacey Hearn and Sojael Suillen added four each. Muhammed Olowo and Steven James Taruc each scored five points for the Bulls.

Turtles 12, Jr. Jammers 11: The Turtles withstood a six-point third quarter by the Junior Jammers to hang on for the win. Thomas Zeratsion had eight points for the winners. Maleik Fisher scored five points for the Jammers, while Louis Ball pitched in four.

Turtles 9, Celtics 7: In their second game of the day, the Turtles pulled out a close win. Tyler Fratus and Zeratsion each put in three points for the Turtles, and teammate Tatyana Nealy added two. Conner Hill and Futu Talua each scored three points for the Celtics.

Fifth and sixth grade

Heat 20, Kings 8: Avenging an earlier loss, the Heat knocked the Kings from the unbeaten ranks and moved into a tie for first place. Peter Vanyatwyk led the way for the Heat, scoring eight points, while Hurvy Zeratsion and Kristina Osorio added four each. The Kings were led by Sabrina Baisch’s five points.

Mustangs 23, Tracy Ballers 20: The Mustangs scored eight points in the fourth quarter to the Ballers’ five to force an extra period. In overtime, Ali Habal, who had a team-high 12 points, scored a basket, as did Alexis Green, to put the Mustangs over the top. Brent Baculi also helped the Mustangs’ cause, scoring nine points. Both Tyler Banh and Josh Soto scored seven points for the Ballers.

PB&J 40, Grizzlies 12: PB&J had an explosive offensive game as they downed the Grizzlies. Eric Broker scored 14 points, Helmandi Samer added 12 and Sean Lutfi pitched in 10 for the winners. Jordan Jeffers scored eight points for the Grizzlies.

Seventh and eighth grade

Knights 32, Cyclones 3: For the second week in a row, the previously undefeated Cyclones were upset, which leaves the top three teams within one game of each other as the league moves into the season’s final two games. Zachary Guertin scored 14 points for the winners, while Kenishi Silva added 11. Jai Miles scored two points in the loss.

Kings 37, Celtics 23: The Kings remained in second place, one game behind the division leader, with a win over the Celtics. The two teams headed into the final quarter with the Kings nursing a 21-17 lead, but Justin King scored all 10 of his points in the quarter to pad the advantage. Dilraj Randhawa led the Kings with 19 points. Justin Vilayphanh led the Celtics with 16.
