Right place, wrong time E-mail

Your Voice: Letter-writer wishes police would do something more substantial at Park-and-Ride lots.

EDITOR,

The Tracy Police Department is now ticketing vehicles parked at the Park-and-Ride lot. I’m assuming that these tickets are for infractions such as no front license plates, expired registration, etc.

While I strongly support police work in all its forms, I have to ask the obvious question: Where is the police when thieves are breaking into these vehicles?

You're assuming? What are the facts?

Well, I'm guessing the thieves wait until the police aren't there. Duh! And since there is crime all over town, they don't sit at the lot. If they sat at the lot, people would complain they were doing nothing. They can't be everywhere at all times so give them a break and quit complaining when they are doing their job which includes writing tickets!!!!

Maybe you were in the wrong place at the right time, where the cops are not there for you to see? They are still working, believe me.

or was it wrong time and right place ... was it... never mind, is it that important? Make request to the city council to put in cameras... you could participate to make the area safer?
Also, the parking lot is not responsible for the tempting stuff the owners keep leaving in the cars... right time for the stuff to go missing.. wrong time for the owners to find out!

The fact they were writing tickets there is enough proof to me they are patroling the place. Thank you Tracy PD.

It seems the source of this gentleman's complaint very well could be that he was one of the recepients of a ticket for an infraction. Nah, that couldn't possibly be it, what on earth was I thinking? smilies/smiley.gif

People complain when the police are there and also when they are not. Can't have it both ways people. Good Lord.

I get what you are trying to say amy.
