Millennium High's stalwart softball pitcher tossed her second perfect game this season. Millennium 14, Tioga 0 Mary Sue Savage pitched another perfect game for the Millennium High girls softball team Monday at the Tracy Sports Complex. Officials called the game against the Tioga Timberwolves after five innings, with Millennium in the lead, 14-0. Savage also threw a perfect game against the Mountain Oaks Eagles in San Andreas in a 10-0 win March 7. Monday’s win put the Falcons at 3-1 for the season. The Falcons batters came out hot with eight runs in the first inning. Antonette Morris went 2-for-3, including a homer and a triple, and Kelsea Eakin went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Merced 2, West 1 Pitchers on both sides dominated Monday’s game in Merced as the West High girls were limited to three hits and the Merced Bears four. The loss put the Wolf Pack at 6-3. Merced took the two-run lead in the first inning and didn’t come close to giving it up, except in the fifth inning, when West scored one run. "Their pitcher did a great job and kept us off-balance all day," West coach Steve Anastasio said. West pitcher Brittaney Enterline did the same thing to Merced in every inning after the first, but for four of seven innings West couldn’t get runners on base. West’s big hit for the day was a double from Gina West, who went 1-for-3. Bryanna Enterline and Arianna Welch also got hits. (F) Tracy 3, Ripon 0 Pitchers Taylor Martinez and Alex Rodriguez kept the Ripon team to two hits in seven innings Monday at the Tracy Sports Complex. Coach Keith Britt said that his team, now 8-0-1 for the season, usually wins by huge margins, so it was good to see the Bullpuppies play a tougher team than usual. Tracy batters got seven hits, including Brianne Aldridge’s solo home run in the fifth inning. Veronica Villasenor went 2-for-2, including a triple; Alexandra Motyka got three hits in three at-bats, scored twice and stole two bases; and Martinez got a hit and drove in a run.
