The Tracy golf team won both its matches this past week, and Millennium fared well in the tournament it hosted.


Tracy 202, Moreau Catholic 236

Anthony Manguray birdied both the par-four second and par-three sixth holes at Tracy Golf & Country Club Thursday to lead his team to a 202-236 win against Moreau Catholic High School of Hayward.

Manguray’s one-over-par 37 is the Bulldogs’ best score for the week in two matches. Jake Pineo shot a two-over-par 38 in Thursday’s win.

Both Dallas Lopez and Shane Conner posted a 42 for Tracy on Thursday, and Kirk Leopoldo and Joey Sefcik each shot 43s.

Moreau Catholic’s golfers and scores: Kevin Shua, 44; Steven Marzan, 45; Matt Manalo, 45; Edward Suria, 51; Patrick Rapadas, 51; and Andre Caimaisa, 55. The teams use the top five scores in the team total.

Tracy 201, Pitman 224

Pineo and Manguray were Tracy’s top scorers, each firing a 39 in Wednesday’s 201-224 win over Pitman High at Stevinson Ranch Golf Course. Other Tracy scores included Dallas Lopez, 40; Joey Sefcik, 41; Shane Conner, 43; and Kirk Leopoldo, 48.

The wins put Tracy at 3-1-1, with the team’s next match on Thursday against Lincoln High at Tracy Golf & Country Club in Tracy’s first San Joaquin Athletic Association match of the season.

Millennium tournament

Millennium High School’s golf team hosted its first matches in the Harvest Christian League on Tuesday with a tournament at Old River Golf Course in Tracy.

Big Valley Christian took first place with a score ;of 217; Jim Elliot Christian was second with 227; Brookside Christian was third with 255 and Millennium came in fourth with a score of 278. Lodi Academy, 287; and Wilton Christian, 299, also competed.

Matt Stewart of Elliot Christian and Joe Green of Big Valley Christian both shot one-over-par 37s, the low score for the day. Stewart birdied the par-four fourth hole, and Green birdied the par-five seventh. Big Valley’s Jared Lunsford shot a 41.

Millennium golfers and scores included: Cameron Davis, 45; Ryan Plusch, 47; Tim Langston, 50; Matthew Nolen, 69; Michele Laban 67; and Britany Oswald 70.
