The Strikers advance in a tournament, and Tracy Little League crowns its home run derby champs. The Tracy United Strikers under-16 girls competitive soccer team competed among 74 other teams in the California Youth Soccer Association North Association Cup in Morgan Hill on March 8 and 9. The Strikers had victories over Palo Alto and Castro Valley. Their Sunday afternoon match was against last year’s finalist, the Redding Renegades. For 70 minutes the game was a defensive battle, and it ended in a 0-0 tie. The Strikers advanced on a one-point goal differential and earned a spot in the Sweet 16 for a game today in Morgan Hill.
