Manteca High claims a 9-5 victory today against visiting West High.
“After the second inning, we shut them out,” coach Steve Anastasio said. “We’ve just got to get rid of the early-game jitters and we’ll be fine.”
Wolf Pack batters out-hit the Buffaloes, with eight base
hits for West and six for After that, the Wolf Pack’s batters connected to score three in the third inning and another in the fourth. Elida Rubio tallied a home run, and Arianna Welch and Jamie Costa each hit doubles to drive in runs for West. The loss puts the Pack at 6-2 for the season.

“It was a good game to bounce back from a hard defeat,”
coach Martin Miller said, referring to Wednesday’s 5-6 loss to West also had a big day at the plate today with 12 hits. Leading hitters were Kelsea Taylor, who went 3-for-4, Brianna May, 2-for-2, Analisa Green, 2-for-3, and Hargraves, 2-for-4.
West’s sophomores are now 4-2 for the season.
