The Tracy High boys tennis squad is still unbeaten in SJAA play. The Tracy High tennis team added another win to its league record Thursday as the boys beat Bear Creek, 5-0. Tracy now stands at 2-0 in San Joaquin Athletic Association play. Coach Dean Reese said that Miguel Gonzalez, who usually plays in doubles matches, won 6-2, 6-2 in singles play against the Bruins’ Kao Saephon. "He performed very well, stayed consistent and was aggressive," Reese said. Reese also put Quinn O’Brien in the Bulldogs’ No. 1 spot, and O’Brien beat Bear Creek’s Leroy Marcus 6-1, 6-1. John Trinidad also won his singles match, 6-2, 6-2, against Levi Scott. In the doubles matches Cameron Mercurio and Chris Pope beat Sao Bong and Joseph Her, 6-1, 6-3, and Niraj Punjya and Mitchel Adams beat Kaleb Ganoey and Johnson Thao, 6-3, 6-1. League play continues next week when Tracy goes to Cesar Chavez High in Stockton on Tuesday. The Tracy Press encourages a free and open exchange of ideas and information.
