A Tracy Unified schools employee shares her frustration with a district bus driver who embezzled union money. EDITOR, As a former co-worker of Lynn Merritt (the Tracy school bus driver convicted of embezzling from her union chapter, Local 98 of the California School Employees Association), I am outraged that she has personal information about each member. It’s a large concern for the members of the union.
I have personally suffered from identity theft and worry this could happen to me or others as a result of her actions. I feel like she walked away with very little remorse for what she has done to her co-workers and friends.
Shame on her. — Terri L. Baker, Tracy

Terri: Most of the employees feel the same. She had the records, why didn't she turn them back over... unless she was up to no good. Everyone needs to check their credit to be sure it hasn't been tampered with. If she had any decency, she would give them back. Shows the type of person she really is.

Terri and Cathy: Thank you for your comments and we understand your concerns. That is good advise: Please keep tabs on your credit. In the monthly Chapter 98 newsletter there is information on how employees can obtain free credit checks. It is recommended. I would like to take this opportunity to remind "Miss Lynn" that it is not too late to do the right thing concerning the chapter records. You know how to contact me. I would gladly come meet you at a place of your choosing to pick them up, no questions asked. It's all out now, so how about returning them? We just want the records returned safely and would greatly appreciate it. Please consider it...

Hi everyone,
What a scary world it is becoming. I live in Canada and have had 2 separate cases of unauthorized use of my credit card. I also had another case where a collection agency was harassing me to get me to pay hundreds of dollars for an unpaid cell phone account that was created in my name, with a company I've never ever dealt with. What a time that was. I have since found something to protect myself if anything ever happens again. It's through Kroll Background America and Pre-paid Legal Services, and it's called the "Identity Theft Shield". It's the ONLY service that along with monitoring your credit, will put a licensed private investigator on your case to RESTORE your identity if any of the 5 areas of your identity are stolen. I am now involved in the company because I want to help protect as many good people/families as I can against the bad things that happen to them, and honestly, nobody knows that this protection even exists. Check out www.prepaidlegal.com/hub/robertnshaw Feel free to write me, I'd love to know more about you. Rob PS: Two tips I've just learned: Don't carry your social security/SIN card in your purse or wallet, memorize your number. Don't throw junk mail with your name and address away in your recycle bin, or in the bin beside your mailbox. This content has been locked. You can no longer post any comment.
