Written by Press staff report
Thursday, 28 February 2008

Tracy police logged 295 calls Wednesday, including the following reports:

8:18 a.m.: Someone vandalized a woman’s car on the 400 block of East Sixth Street.

8:21 a.m.: A caller reported the theft of a boat hitch and copies of some documents from the 4400 block of Tropaz Lane.

8:24 a.m.: Someone vandalized a car on the 1800 block of Mello Court.

8:32 a.m.: A woman on the 1100 block of Duncan Drive called to report that in the fall of 1988, she hit her then-11-year-old daughter in the back of the head with a metal object. She didn’t report it then, and she said her daughter suffered no bleeding or medical problems, but felt her daughter never mentally healed and wanted to report it now to “help her heal.”

9:44 a.m.: A woman on the 100 block of West Carlton Way complained that when she returned a truck to a Tracy dealership because her loan was denied, she was only given $2,000 back when she gave the dealer $5,000.

11:27 a.m.: Someone stole a 2002 Lexus RX300 from a garage on the 3900 block of Payton Lane.

12:19 p.m.: A woman reported someone stole her husband’s prescription medicine from the 700 block of A Street.

1:30 p.m.: A caller reported two kids racing motor scooters without helmets at 10th Street and Windeler Avenue.

3:34 p.m.: Police arrested a bike thief and returned the bike to its owner after a neighbor reported seeing the theft on the 1000 block of Windeler Avenue.

4:14 p.m. A woman at C and S Metals, 360 Arbor Way, reported a hate crime after listening to a phone message. She said she missed what she thought was a business call, phoned back, and got a recording out of New Jersey. Police in that state were notified, but no details were given of what the recording said.

5:53 p.m.: A caller reported six men beating up a man at the New Hope Care Center, 2586 Buthmann Ave. A woman in the vestibule reported that her car was damaged during the fight.

6:46 p.m.: A caller reported 11 kids with a pellet gun were shooting at pets and windows in Gillette Alley and West Street.

7:02 p.m.: A caller on the 900 block of Windeler Avenue reported that people blocked the caller’s driveway with a car. The caller believes it was intentional because the caller has phoned police about loud parties the people have thrown in the past, and believes they are drug dealers. Police called in a tow truck, but gave the owner a ticket instead after the car was moved.

8:26 p.m.: The driver of a Chevy Tahoe ran into a fire hydrant and sent water gushing everywhere on the 3800 block of South MacArthur Drive. A caller reported the driver was drunk.

8:31 p.m.: A man reported someone threw a Molotov cocktail at his house and started a fire that was quickly extinguished on the 1200 block of Megan Court. The man said he didn’t know who did it.

This column includes a sampling of items as reported in the Tracy Police. Department dispatcher’s daily log. Additional information is based on reports from officers and other law enforcement agencies. To report information about a crime: Crime Stoppers, 831-6847.

Having interesting or not thing in the police blotter is more of a tradition than anything else. If some cant see or respect that, their parent didn't do a good job teaching them manners..... Obviously someone needs to see mental professional or what ever happened in this particular situation. Maybe it really happened and the mom still feels guilty.

Silly Me I use to live on 10th Street and the kids that rode the motor scooters were obnoxious. They would buzz up and down the street at midnight on the load gas powered scooters. It would wake out whole house up.

I want to know about all the cops by Tracy Oasis last night. I was dropping off my girlfriend and they let us through and on the way back through saw the feet of what look like a dead body in the back of a truck and and the police were documenting it.

Anybody hear anything about it or have info?

About the mother hitting her daughter in 1988-I suppose this will end up on some talk show about what goes on in the city of Tracy. David Letterman already mentioned Tracy in February last year about the guys best valentine present was his girlfriend getting out of jail!

What an idiot. Don't ever call the cops cause the dealer kept a portion of your down payment. How long did she drive the car before her loan was denied? They keep part of you down payment for the time you were driving the car without financing. Read the contract next time before you sign it dummy!!
