A letter writer blames "liberal politicians and environmental whackos" for America's oil shortages.

EDITOR,

The U.S. is becoming more dependent on foreign oil due to our liberal politicians and environmental whackos. They won’t let U.S. oil companies drill off our coasts and in Alaska and are opposed to new nuclear power plants and new oil refineries.

Foreign countries will be selling us oil obtained from off our own coast. We won’t drill, but they will. The first will be off the coast of Florida, and no doubt the coast of California will be next.

Do we want to pay foreign countries for our own oil? Our politicians are nuts and are destroying our country.

The worst whackos are the Bush's. Here is Jeb and GW blocking drilling off the Florida coast:

Florida is known worldwide for its beautiful coastal waters and the Everglades," said President Bush. "Today we are acting to preserve both."

"The actions we are taking today to preserve Florida's environment are truly unprecedented," added Governor Bush. "Today, thanks to the President's support, we are reversing the momentum of nearly half a century in Florida and guaranteeing the preservation of our environment-based economy and quality of life."

Ports, railroads, Freeways, toll roads, airports, land, businesses are being bought up by foreigners while we were so busy infighting over the war, worrying about the economy, about homes, jobs, health, and so on.

Should this be going on at time of war?

Our congress is being manupilated by these lobbyist for oil, big energy special interest groups, vote out those who do not listen to the voice of American people.

Most of them are anti-environmentalist.

However, if the foreign country owns any oil rig in our coastal waters they do not have to follow our environmental laws?

so right on, while there were so much focus on infighting, concerns over the war and housing crisis, our ports,toll roads, properties, businesses are being bought
by foreign interests. That must stop!
