The Tracy Novice Cougars get a visit from a former 49er. ![]() Former San Francisco 49er linebacker Willie Harper, a member of the 49ers’ first Super Bowl championship team, dropped by the practice of a team making its own first appearance in a championship game: the Tracy Novice Cougars. Harper stopped by the Cougars’ nighttime practice on Thursday evening on the way back from an appearance in Stockton. He advised the team to remember how they got where they were, and reminded them how lucky they were to be in the position. Harper played 11 years in the NFL, and won Super Bowl XVI with the 49ers in January 1982. Photo by Enrique Gutierrez/Tracy Press.
