A man who flees police on foot is arrested at gunpoint.


A man ran from police after they pulled him over just after 11 p.m. Thursday night near Clover Road and Tracy Boulevard.

The man jumped a fence and led officers on a half-mile foot chase before he was arrested at gunpoint. He was found to have been on probation.

 

Tracy police logged several hundred calls Thursday and Friday, including the following reports:

 

Friday

 

2:57 a.m.: People tried to get into cars using a knife at the Jacobson Warehouse, 2300 Chabot Court.

 

7:25 a.m.: An ex-boyfriend refused to stop bugging an employee at Smart and Final, 1150 W. 11th St.

 

8:01 a.m.: Officers counseled three suspended students who had returned to Stein School, 650 W. 10th St., and made threats.

 

10:29 a.m.: A caller had issues with a neighbor’s children “regarding eggs and paintball” on the 1400 block of Lombard Court.

 

10:43 a.m.: Police responded to a report of drug use at Williams Middle School, 1600 Tennis Lane.

 

11:37 a.m.: Someone broke into a house on the 3300 block of Holly Drive.

 

11:42 a.m.: Someone stole a hummingbird feeder, a planter and flowers from a porch on the 600 block of East Street.

 

12:16 p.m.: A woman called from Little Caesars Pizza, 235 E. 11th St., to say a man left a message on her unlisted phone number saying he was following her and wanted to kill her.

 

12:51 p.m.: An ambulance was called for a woman who hit in the head by a thrown rock after a “road rage” incident at MacArthur Drive and Pescadero Avenue. Someone driving a white SUV also threw a bottle that broke the woman’s car window.

 

1:14 p.m.: Three men walked away from the scene of a accident at Corral Hollow Road and 11th Street. The men split up, and afterward, one was seen handing a white bag to another. Police eventually arrested one man.

 

3:10 p.m.: A farm worker with a beer bottle in a brown bag was arrested after he passed out at a gas pump at Chevron, 3775 N. Tracy Blvd.

 

5:43 p.m.: A man held another man and a woman at gunpoint with a shotgun after they banged on his front door on the 4500 block of Lammers Road. It turned out the woman might have been running away from the man and seeking help when she banged on the door. Police decided the couple was merely arguing.

 

6:31 p.m.: Someone broke into a Toyota Tacoma at In-Shape City, 101 N. Tracy Blvd.

 

10:08 p.m.: A man was arrested after he tried to tear apart a pay phone at McDonald’s, 3430 N. Tracy Blvd. He said he was homeless and was trying to get back money he had put into the phone. Police arrested him.

 

9:25 p.m.: Someone broke into a Chevy Tahoe at Texas Roadhouse, 2422 Naglee Road.

 

10:51 p.m.: Someone shot out the window of a 1005 Nissan Altima on the 600 block of Gianelli Court.

 

Thursday

 

12:01 a.m.: Three kids were seen walking near Seventh Street and Central Avenue and “tearing down home signs.”

 

6:23 a.m.: A new building was spray painted with graffiti at North School, 2875 Holly Drive.

 

6:58 a.m.: A bicyclist was bleeding from her chin and had a bump on her head after a car hit her at East Street and Carlton Way.

 

7:24 a.m.: A grandmother in west Tracy who “had a premonition of abuse” reported that a 10-year-old and an 8-year-old old told her they had been molested by their brother for the past eight years.

 

8:21 a.m.: A “modified knife” was found on the steps of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave.

 

9:18 a.m.: Someone reported that people were going in and out of a vacant home on the 400 block of Montauban Court to do drugs, but it turned out to be new tenants renting the house.

 

11:02 a.m.: People have been sleeping in abandoned cars parked in Gillette Alley near the 200 block of East 10th Street. One car had a pipe inside it.

 

12:20 p.m.: Four teenagers were truant and sharing drugs at New Harmon Park, 2131 Hillcrest Lane.

 

2:42 p.m.: A man was detained for petty theft at JCPenny, 3100 Naglee Road.

 

3:23 p.m.: About 20 or 30 teenagers were fighting at Zanussi Park, 1500 Promenade Circle.

 

3:53 p.m.: A woman said she intercepted a check written to a vendor, who changed the amount and forged the check from Action Fire Fab and Supply Co., 1600 W. Linne Road.

 

4:31 p.m.: A teenager walked up to a caller’s car and broke the window on the 1300 block of Manley Court.

 

4:34 p.m.: A woman reported that her roommate’s ex-boyfriend keeps banging on the doors and screaming at her during phone calls on the 500 block of Charlemagne Lane. The ex-boyfriend was arrested.

 

4:57 p.m.: Employees put out a blaze after someone dumped a dryer and set it afire behind Auto Zone, 1122 W. 11th St. Employees told police they noticed something inside the dryer that appeared “bloody.”

 

5:06 p.m.: Two men in a pickup were “laying rubber all over the roadway” at Poppy Hills Lane and Riverview Drive.

 

5:51 p.m.: A caller reported that employees and their friends were smoking pot behind Baskin-Robbins and that smoke had wafted inside the store at 965 S. Tracy Blvd.

 

7 p.m.: Two pit bulls that attacked a neighbor were roaming in front of a caller’s house on the 1800 block of South Central Avenue.

 

8:09 p.m.: A landlord reported that tenants who were evicted from a house on the 1300 block of Bessie Avenue had stolen $4,000 worth of appliances.

 

8:11 p.m.: A pizza delivery man hit a parked car on the 900 block of Delores Court.

 

8:49 p.m.: Five people were “smoking something out of a pipe on a porch” on the 1200 block of Wilson Avenue. The pipe had hoses coming out of it.

 

8:57 p.m.: A pickup and a car whose occupants chased each other and fired paintballs at each other kept driving into the parking lot of Traina Elementary School, 4256 Windsong Drive.

 

9:01 p.m.: A man was taken into custody for shoplifting at Safeway, 1801 W. 11th St.

 

9:34 p.m.: Four people were seen smoking drugs inside a parked car on the 800 block of Portola Way.

 

9:47 p.m.: Police warned some kids who were shooting paintball guns at each other, hiding behind cars and alarming residents on the 1500 block of Peony Drive.

 

10:49 p.m.: A caller heard something and went outside to find that his neighbor’s car had been paintballed on the 900 block of Twin Oaks Drive.

 

11:03 p.m.: Two teenagers were seen throwing something shiny over a fence at Traina School, 4256 Windsong Drive, and the caller thought it was a paintball gun.
