To All Concerned,

On July 31st, in the Voice Archives (Mad About Neighbors), maybenotdumBcommenT voiced her opinion of our commenting on the Police Blotter/Logs to Decker in a most negative way. I was not shocked to see that maybenotdumBcommenT would stoop to such a low and responded to Decker.

I, for one, will no longer indulge maybenotdumBcommenT with any responses. I will, however, respond to defend myself to whomever she is writing if that writing sullies my reputation.

As always, you can handle this whichever way you see fit.
Oh ya, my brother is a cop, not here tho. I get the sickest cop jokes in the email but at least I keep it to myself.
Bla, I never said my brother sent them, they aren't from him. People know I have a cop brother and a narcotics agent Uncle. People send them to me.

amy, get a life, in Washington. Remember, you moved.

ftud, are you sure it hurts no one? Don't bother answering. I already told you, I had a crime on one of these logs you all recently started making fun of. You never hit on it, but if you had it could very well have been hurtful that someone was making a joke about it. - maybenotdumBcommenT

"I don't believe for one second that anyone who has posted here is glad to see these things happening."

Dave,

With this statement you are entirely correct. All of the listings in the police blotter should not happen. There are callers and there are victims on these listings. The humor here is lighthearted to say the least. Just a way to make light of a slightly louse society we all have to live in.

In no way are there any intentions by any of the contributors to lessen the crime or offend its victims. We try to be as generic as the writer is on the police blotter.

"Actually they were out there doing their job very early this morning. Unfortunately they can't be everywhere at once and I completely understand it's more important for them to be tracking down people who shoot at other people in broad daylight rather than to worry much about someone getting a catalytic converter sawed off their vehicle. What do you think?

Dave Hardesty

Actually, I think the police should be protecting everything, including parked vehicles. You are correct in saying that the police can't be everywhere.

Ok, since you put it out there I have a comment to mbndc. It is obvious that your bro the cop doesn't keep his humor to himself as it appears you are saying he forwards it to you. You keep it to yourself so you read it and delete it? How come you don't keep your comments to yourself? It seems the only one who is expressing their offense to this site is you. Or did I miss something? So as others said maybe you are the one who needs to get a life or do you just like people to react to your blog so you have something to chat about? ;) - bla

You are not to "dictate" to me on what I left out or not, not going to be a "pawn" in your judgemental game with the commentors on the Police Lot, Police Blotter. That is your solidary fight.

I have aired my concerns, as well on this blog.
And keeping my humor intact!

amy, you left so much out. What about killing animals. Stealing a womans purse and using their credit cards. Did you say anything about robbing a bank at gunpoint while patrons are there. Etc. Go on, your bored. Just like Mr Misfit said. He has it backwards.

Dave, You do know the fore fighter have a sense of humor to and especially paramedics. They would have to. Hope they keep their comment to each other. I however am one of the few who gets to hear cop humor. You guys have nothing on them. Oh ya, my brother is a cop, not here tho. I get the sickest cop jokes in the email but at least I keep it to myself. - maybenotdumBcommenT

Oh, I definitely know they have a sense of humor. My thought was of the victims of these crimes. Back stories we don't know about. Could be hurtful to someone. I thought the police might be offended at first for their hard work, and You all don't have to worry about my feelings and I'm not stewing, come on, I'm commenting.

I know many many police officers and yes they do have a sense of humor, sometimes morbid and they need to vent. But I doubt they do it publicly. - maybenotdumBcommenT

HDMisfit. I think it is the other way around. These people don't have a life. They have hundreds of comments all over these comment sections as well as I do but they upped the anti because they were bored. - maybenotdumBcommenT

no maybenotadumBcommenT, I can make my own decision on whether I want to post "funnies" to get our funny bone going, laughter is the best medicine!!!

I can understand your defense for someone who is a dispatcher or wrote it down?

Three points of article I want to mention from past blogs though:
1. Never ever shake a baby!
2. Never hit a child. If you hit an adult you would be charged for assault battery, that is no less crime with a child!
3. There should be no shooting at any cars, families and people! Crack down on the crime!

Now that I have aired my concerns, my humor is ready to go on a roll!
Thanks. -amy

If some of you think your thoughts are funny and other don't think they are, you really ought to get to know the members of the Police Department and find out what they think about this.

These men and women in blue have excellent sences of humor and completely understand that people are just making light of serious situations.

Some of the things they have to say, at a personal level, would shock some and have others rolling on the ground in laughter.

I don't believe for one second that anyone who has posted here is glad to see these things happening.

You can either stew about it and worry about it or you can make light of it, get along with life and actually do something to help correct the situation. The choise of free expression is yours.

Take care all and have a great day.

"8:35 a.m.: A caller from the Jacobson Warehouse at 2020 N. MacArthur Drive reported someone stole $300 worth of monitors over the weekend."

Dummy security cameras fail to record theft that occurred over the weekend.
(sorry, another personal jab)"

Back at ya. ;)

Personally $300 dollar monitors don't sound like they are very valuable. One at $300 isn't very valuable, much less more than one. Guess the owner couldn't afford to shell out a couple of grand to protect this obviously very worthless stuff. ;)

But I am sorry for his or her loss though.

6:57 a.m.: A caller on the 1700 block of Groveview Way reported someone stole an “Obama sign” from the front yard.

And this truly is a crime!

Unfortunately, in my worthless opinion, it is. Personally the person who took it should be given a medal for cleaning up the trash. But that's just my opinion. ;)

Thanks to all of you for lightening the mood with the funny comments about the not so funny things that happen around Tracy. In no way do I think anyone is belittling the fact that Tracy has it's share of problems and the problems can be very serious. The ones making the humorous comments are probably the ones that take an active role in trying to change Tracy for the better.

MNDC - Get A Life....go outside, get some fresh air, find a new friend, pick up a hobby, address your lack of sense of humor problem and please, stop being so bitter. Life is Good!
