Firehouse Chili...

Where the hell do u get your information? Going to Sunnyvale to Train? C'mon....give me a break already. God, the public is so misinformed! And the Tracy Press does nothing to help. The Tracy Press has diminished itself to nothing more than a gossip rag that spreads rumors and inuendo; then let's the masses at it to bicker back and forth! - Randolph Mantooth

Maybe what is needed to shorten response times is for city planners to investigate putting possible "through lanes" at certain intersections within the city that always seem to have a bottleneck. Keeping these lanes open, and unusable to public traffic, would make it easier for emergency vehicles to traverse a busy intersection. As small as Tracy is, traveling on Corral Hollow at Parkside to the mall is like driving through downtown Fremont. There's a light at just about every intersection. Can't be good on the environment or motorists cutting gas prices when they have to stop at every corner. - B-dub

Correction alert folks.

Councilman Steve Abercrombie sits on the South County Fire Authority board along with Mayor Brent Ives as the city of Tracy representatives.

Councilwoman Suzanne Tucker is an alternate representative for Tracy, and filled in for Abercrombie during a January meeting at which the report was briefly discussed.

Sorry about the error, but thanks for reading. - Jon Mendelson

John,
We have the same amount of firehouses we did 25 years ago. The population has tripled. Do you think the city has no resources. Go look at the cities investment portfolio and write about what you find out next week.
