Much like you Jon, I knew Father Kelly was innocent, just knew it. I attended St. Bernard's school, and served many services as an alter server with Father Kelly. At St. Bernards we called him 'Father Chuckles', for the obvious reason that he always had the best jokes. The investigation by authorities will proceed. A number of credible people have come forward with first-hand knowledge and experience of Kelly's past abuse history. The church has always and unfortunately is continuing to protect its priests and devastating the catholic religion in its wake. There have been so many cases of abuse and coverup; people should not rush to protect the priest and condemn the victim because in most cases the charges have been true. I'm glad to see him vindicated as much as he can be. This will not end for a long time.
