No they are not dumb because they offset having the big toys by riding a motorcycle when they can. The money they save riding a motorcycle allows them to play with the big toys.

I commute to Mountain View everyday...a car is not feasible for a 62 mile commute. Motorcycle takes an hour, car takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Each way.
Yes, I get 42 mpg.

I've been rear-ended on the interstate because I _wasn't_ splitting lanes by an inattentive driver.

But the attitude of "motorcyclists are suicidal and deserve to die" is short-sighted. I have 2 daughters and am not suicidal. I do it because of economy, speed, carpool lane, and the sheer fun of riding. I think you need to find something to be passionate about.

btw, Should a semi-driver have the same callous attitude towards you in a car if he decides to run over you?

To Bob, and everyone else in here. On September 15th, at Dr. Powers Park, there will be a benefit Memorial Poker Run. A Day of Remembrance honoring two fallen Tracy Police Officers, Sgt. Mike Cox and Ofc. David Waite. Proceeds benefits their children's education. Both Mike and David were motorcyclists and cherished the common bond with other motorcyclists; backgrounds, race, religeon, associates, or gender didn't matter, they loved to ride and have a good time.

The Tracy Police Officer's Association is sponsoring this event. Bob, your welcome to come out and socialze with local bikers and feel free to share your opinions as I'm sure they will share theirs with you. No confrontations, just to see their perspective.
